In an increasingly automated job market, a question arises: what is the role of human beings in the corporate world?

You must think that professionals with technical skills in technology are highlighted. It is not wrong but companies are also paying more attention to soft skills - these are the so-called behavioral skills, which include creativity, emotional skills and critical thinking, for example.

As technology has brought machines to work in many human roles and they are certainly better than humans are at repetitive tasks, the role of the human being literally becomes human. People need to develop by thinking more and more about complex problem solving strategies. If a person has a hard skill (technical skill) as their only professional guideline, this will be very fragile for their career as we are in a time of fast change, mainly because of digital transformation.

Companies have already realized that having employees with the right soft skills greatly improves the result. For this reason, it is essential, before hiring, to map the main soft skills for a given position. Otherwise, the result will be the opposite: low revenue and high turnover of people. If hired employees do not have the necessary behavioral skills for that position, it is possible to develop them, as we are all capable of developing soft skills.

The ideal is to have critical thinking to go beyond the stated trends and understand which ones make the most sense for your career and for the business.

WHAT ARE THE MOST DEMANDED SOFT SKILLS BY 2025:

1- Analytical thinking and critical thinking

It is the ability to analyze situations and, from the interpretation of data, suggest innovative ideas and solutions for the company. Usually, they are people who can make decisions and go against the trend.

2- Active learning

Before, it was common for the company to create a career plan for the employee, but that is in the past. The active learning professional is someone who leads. It is the person capable of seeking continuous knowledge, as processes change frequently.

3- Ability to solve complex problems

Complex problems are those that have normally never happened before. Therefore, the professional capable of creating new and simple solutions, of seeing the problem as an opportunity for innovation, and not as an obstacle, is one of the most requested. Especially in times of VUCA world (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity).

4- Creativity

In theory, creativity is the ability to find the new, the different. They are professionals who seek new ways and alternatives to do something. However, for professionals to be creative, the company cannot have a culture of fear management, but rather provide a psychologically safe environment, because creativity involves mistakes.

5- Ability to lead and influence

Leadership skills are not just for CEOs or managers. These are skills that help you handle responsibility and pressure, inspire colleagues and embrace change in the pursuit of better solutions.

6- Using technology at work

The employees - regardless of their field of activity - understand that digitalization makes day-to-day processes easier and know how to use it to their advantage. With this, the company gains speed in the delivery of tasks, and employees gain extra hours to do other things.

7-Emotional intelligence

It is people's ability to learn to deal with their own emotions and their effect on the corporate environment. It is having self-control of the management of your emotions. In addition, the emotionally intelligent professional knows how to deal with unexpected day-to-day situations and, motivates and keeps the team engaged.

8- Resilience

It is linked to the soft skill of emotional intelligence. This is because they think positive and have a higher level of resilience. They go through difficult times, but they know how to deal with it well. It has a positive point even in the face of chaos. They do not get desperate and depressed. They are people who adapt to the rapid changes in the world.

HOW TO DEVELOP SOFT SKILLS:

Do research with people close to you, like your friends, your co-workers and your family. Ask what your best behavioral skills are. Then list your points to develop. Once that is done, ask people for feedback. Even for those who do not like you very much because they are fundamental to discovering your blind spots. Also, get into the habit of reading. Seek knowledge. This is the most complete exercise.

Knowing how to choose the right professional profile is just one of the challenges of those looking to have a successful company in the market. The impact of changes in the post-Covid world is enormous and has transformed companies all over the world.

The world is changing very fast. Do not fall behind!
